Then again, what if they just animated it and had the original actors do the voices? Like they did with Marvel’s What If…?. While ideally you would have the original actors reprise their roles, I think it would work best if we got completely different actors to take on the roles. With the success of fantasy shows like House of the Dragon and Rings of Power now, I think an adaptation of 1602 can provide some interesting variety for the Disney+ lineup. In this reality, the mutants have been branded as ‘witchbreed’ and have been sentenced to burn at the stake, and it’s up to the heroes to team-up and save them.Īdmittedly, that description is an oversimplification of the convoluted plot of 1602, but the book does contain memorable versions of almost every superhero from Daredevil, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Thor, Captain America, and plenty more. Just in case you haven’t checked out 1602 yet, it’s an alternate reality of the Marvel universe where all the heroes exist as characters in the Victorian era. Replying to a fan on Twitter, Gaiman expressed his interest in turning his book Marvel 1602 into a Disney+ series. Neil Gaiman is currently coming off the adaptation of his beloved Sandman series with Netflix, but he has one Marvel project that he wrote that he wants to come to Disney+.
